Privacy policy.
Central Coast Tree Services is bound by the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and follows the Australian Privacy Principles. This page explains our practice in plain English.
What we collect.
When you submit a quote request, ring us, or email [email protected], we collect your name, phone number, email address, the suburb the job is in, and a description of the tree services you are asking us to quote. We do not collect any payment information through this website — payments for completed jobs are arranged separately, after a quote is accepted, by EFT or card.
Why we collect it.
The information is collected for one purpose only: to respond to your quote request or enquiry. We use it to call or email you back, to assess the job, and to prepare a written quote. If you accept the quote and we do the work, we keep the information as part of our job records (we are required to keep these records under VBA / state-licensing rules for seven years).
Who we share it with.
We do not sell, trade or pass your information to any third party for marketing purposes — ever. The only third parties who receive your information are:
- Our hosting provider (Netlify) — the form submission lives on Netlify's servers for the time it takes us to download it. Netlify is subject to its own privacy policy at netlify.com/privacy.
- Our email provider (Google Workspace) — your message lands in our Gmail-hosted business inbox. Subject to Google's privacy policy.
- Other licensed trades on a job — if your job needs (for example) a licensed plumber or electrician on-site, we share the minimum information needed (name, address, scope) for them to do their work. Always with notice to you first.
We never share your information for marketing, lead-resale, or analytics-resale purposes.
How we store and protect it.
Form data is stored in encrypted-at-rest databases at Netlify and Google. Our own laptops and phones are password-protected and use full-disk encryption. We do not maintain a customer mailing list and we do not send marketing emails — if you receive an email from us, it is in direct response to a quote, an in-progress job, or a follow-up after a completed job.
Cookies & website analytics.
This site uses Google Analytics 4 to measure aggregate traffic patterns — which pages are visited, which suburbs we have demand from, how long visitors stay. The data is aggregated and anonymised; we cannot identify individual visitors. You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking via your browser settings or the Google Analytics opt-out add-on.
Your rights under the Privacy Act.
You have the right to:
- Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
- Ask us to correct any information that is wrong.
- Ask us to delete information that is no longer required for the purpose it was collected.
- Lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au if you believe we have mishandled your information.
Contact us about privacy.
For any privacy enquiry or complaint, email [email protected] or call (03) 9003 0108. We will respond within 5 business days. If you remain dissatisfied, the OAIC (oaic.gov.au) handles privacy complaints across Australia.
